Hello, I’m Ray and I created Joyful Turtle as a creative outlet to express my daily life, spiritual beliefs and artistic projects. I have a basic philosophy of love, laugh and learn.
Love. If I had one personal goal it would be to experience pure love. Love of all. Everything changes with love. With love there are no judgements, no negativity and no sense of separation. Yes, love IS the answer.
Laugh. It’s impossible to feel sad while laughing. Laughing relieves stress and makes you feel happier. Laughter binds us together when shared and has been shown to have positive effects on the mind and body. Laughter makes us happy and happy is GOOD.
Learn. To continue on a spiritual path I want to learn. I don’t want knowledge to feel smarter than anyone, I want to learn how to be a happier, more loving, more peaceful and complete being. Everyday is an opportunity to learn and I want to learn to be a better person.
As long as I remember to love, laugh and learn I will lead a compassionate, loving, fun and exciting life experience. When I can experience the positives in life I am better able to share them with others.
Personal: I live in the Midwest and make my living on the internet. I release creative energy and earn a living through designing for shirt and gift sites such as Zazzle and Cafepress, have affiliate websites and doing freelance design work. Six years ago I decided to stop dating(after two failed marriages and a long term relationship) and focus on my internet business and spiritual growth.
I was raised in the Christian faith and as an adult I’ve lightly studied various spiritual paths such as Buddhism and Taoism but have stepped out on my own very personal path. I would not label myself as a follower of any religion but my current beliefs do resemble Eastern philosophies more than Western philosophies.
Joyful Turtle is my canvas for sharing thoughts on topics like spirituality, love, forgiveness, reincarnation and accountability. I’m not serious all the time:) I like to play video games(non killing type), go bike riding, movies, anything artistic and musical. I love animals and the outdoors. I love audiobooks since I can listen to spiritual books while doing nearly any activity. The best moments are those times when I feel completely connected to all life. In May 2011 I quit smoking after 20 years. Later in 2011 I adopted a vegetarian life style.
My philosophy and my life are simple. I want to be a better human being and help make the world a better place.
- Live in Love,
aka the Joyful Turtle
