Today I’m reviewing two new(to me) products from Sweet Earth Natural Foods. In the past I have tried the Sweet Earth Veggie Burger and made Sweet Earth Curry Seitan and Rice. I spotted the burritos while looking for any vegetarian or vegan meal ideas. Vegetarian and vegan foods can be expensive and I always look for sales. I decided on two burritos, the Curry Tiger burrito and Big Sure Breakfast burrito.
One flavor I’ve come to really enjoy is curry, something I don’t recall having as a meat eater. The Curry Tiger would be a part of lunch and the Big Sur burrito would be for the following morning. Both The Curry Tiger and the Big Sur Breakfast burritos are vegan. First up is The Curry Tiger burrito.
Sweet Earth The Curry Tiger Burrito
I admit I wasn’t expecting much from a frozen burrito. I prepared as instructed: heat the burrito for one minute in the microwave. For lunch I had The Curry Tiger. It had a really nice flavor and texture. I think given in a blind taste test, most people would assume it to be a normal meat burrito. The Curry Tiger has a blend of curried seitan, lentils, potatoes, red peppers and spiced with turmeric, cinnamon and cardamon. About the only way I could improve it would be a little salsa on it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would have Curry Tiger burritos again.
Sweet Earth Big Sur Breakfast Burrito
For breakfast the next morning I had the Bug Sur Breakfast burrito. Prepared the same way, I was pleasantly surprised at its flavor. The Big Sur is made up of smoked seitan, roasted red peppers, potatoes and seasoned tofu. A great tasting breakfast burrito any foodie would like. A bowl of fruit and a big glass of orange juice and my morning is complete!
I really liked both the burritos and would try the other variations of burritos Sweet Earth offers. They tastes great and I like that fact the two I tried are vegan. The Curry Tiger has Non-GMO ingredients. I bought the two different burritos because they were on sale at my local store. You can check online at sweetearthfoods.com for locations near you. Of course buying online is an option. I suggest checking your local stores for the various kinds of Sweet Earth burritos, I really liked them!
